Elena Xausa (b. 1984, Verona) is an Italian illustrator currently based in Berlin.
Playing with different media and supporting and experimenting diverse creative languages, which go from decoration to animation, or screen-printings passing through her first love for drawing and illustration, Elena develops her unique and fresh style.
Getting inspiration from music and street culture and tending to essential shapes, she creates clean and striking childlike subjects with an unmistakable and direct mark.
Thanks to her cheerful, but never trivial approach, Elena has worked for international high-level clients such as Teatro La Scala Milano, Kinder& Ferrero, Gas Jeans, Rizla, Meltin Pot, Feltrinelli, Mondadori, Moleskine, and her illustrations have been featured in many magazines as diverse as Rolling Stone, Vice Magazine, Ottagono, Vanity Fair, GQ, Glamour, Ventiquattro – Il Sole 24 Ore, D - La Repubblica, and online It's Nice That and Frizzi Frizzi.
In 2009 she was awarded with an artist residency at Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa in Venice, the city where she founded – along with Tankboys and Tommaso Speretta - the independent publishing house Automaticbooks.
